Autumn-Winter 2013 looks' long overdue post.

Heyyyaaaa all. The weekend is coming to an end. Again. Hope you had a great one like me!!
So at the end of this beautiful week, I would love to share a beautiful video that has been loooooonnnnnnng overdue, like, at least one Autumn/Winter season overdue and I am deeply sorry about this. This video was made by my friend Keit from Bulgaria, who has been the nicest and sweetest co-worker I ever had at my previous fashion company. She was one of the reasons who kept me going in a dreadful workplace. No life? CHECKED - which was why I had no opportunity to share the video until today. I think, one of those days I was slaving away with my mate Coba-chan at company when we received this super happy video from Keit! Couldn't say how excited we were!

Now to the superest awesomest video someone has ever made for me and my ex-team!! Keit's happy styles never go outdated, so the styles she kindly created for us a while ago still very much applies NOW! ♥ Thank you so so so much, Keit! Blagodaria!♥ (← Hope I didn't get it wrong!)

Life, however is not all miserable at the ex-company, because we had each other - the best team ever. Here's a peek of the fun we had in AW2013!

In other news, I finally had a chance to update my online store! You may click "SHOP MY CLOSET" on top or here to see what I have that you can buy! Trades are welcome as well, if not, very much desired. Shipping/Trading overseas!
Am already preparing for the next post right now, so keep coming back yo!♥

Russian Lunch!!

Won vouchers unexpectedly from Russian restaurant "Buyan". Kind of panicked because I wasn't prepared for an idea THIS NEW. (Russian food isn't very major in multi-racial Singapore yet, ya'know) Finally visited Buyan during lunch time yesterday. Ordered a 3-course lunch consisting of an appetiser, a main and a dessert. Anything from the main menu can be selected, except for caviar. (That's ok, I can't appreciate black fish eggs) All dishes were delectable!! Not so hard to accept as I thought (too much).

Appetiser/Soup - Chicken Lapsha (Russian Chicken Soup with Handmade Noodles and Vegetables)
One of the hot soup dishes. Examples of other hot soups are Borscht and Ukha. Somehow it had my omoni (mum)'s taste!! How incredible. A comfort food good for winter. I'm so going to try making this at home.

Chicken Lapsha

Next up, main dish - Chicken Kiev  (Deep-fried Chicken Breasts rolled in garlic butter) served with Mushroom Sauce.

Chicken Kiev
The Chicken Kiev looked like a cute giant croquette. It bled BUTTER as I cut it open. BUTTTER!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME. The mushroom sauce was great as well. It went freakin' well with anything on the plate - the vegetables sauteed in garlic butter, and the chicken roll itself. Wanted some more mushroom sauce, but since it was fine dining, I tried my best not to make too many requests. Chicken Kiev is happy dish for a butter lover like me, not too difficult to make but its preparation just seems to take too long (as per youtube video recipes). I'll try making it someday, maybe♪

Last, dessert of HONEY CAKE!! Like the powered up version of Dotour's already-fab Honey Millecrepe, just more fab and more honey. Definitely need to use some coffee for this.

Honey Cake
If you're searching for a new idea and have some budget, got to go to Buyan.

Hiroshima Tsukemen (Dip Noodles)

Somebody from Hiroshima, thank you ah!! wwww

Something spicy and oishii I received from my lovely and mysterious "Somebody from Hiroshima" about a week ago - Bakudanya's Hiroshima Tsukemen set!! Thank you my lovely Somebody!!♪ Hiroshima Tsukemen is one great Hiroshima cuisine that has been getting too little attention (since Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki and Momiji-manju Maple cakes have been getting more air-time).

The tsukemen is cold noodles served with a spicy sauce. You can choose whatever toppings you'd like to have, but a typical plate of tsukemen is served with char siew, egg, cucumber, cabbage and spring onions. The level of spicyness can also be adjusted according to your liking. I usually order Level 15 onwards at the actual shop. But since what I have now is a box-set, the level of spicyness is limited to whatever that I can find in the box, which is probably around a maximum of Level 5. That's a bit disappointing but that's ok, because I can eat my favourite Hiroshima food in Singapore, in my own room!!♪♪

Made this from the box set♪

Check this really cool hand-writing style menu, found only at actual Bakudanya shops.(Left) Besides food items, it shows also a spicyness level chart at the bottom. At the shop, I've heard people ordering mostly up to level 10, but once, I've met someone who came into the shop and asked for a 50 immediately. Like, DUDE, YOU SERIOUS? I tried a 30, the dip sauce served was red and sticky (right image, right-most bowl). The first sip tasted ordinary, then the hot stuff kicked in after 2-3 seconds!! If you like spicy stuff, Ricchi and Tsucchi recommend around level 15 to 22!! ♥

A must-try if you're dropping by Hiroshima!! If you're only zooming by on the Sanyo Shinkansen (bullet train), remember to visit their shop located conveniently within JR Hiroshima (Shinkansen side) -

AJINOMOTO BIRDY ROBUSTA

♪♪ BIRDY(バーディー)の缶コーヒー!!

Received an interesting souvenir from Krabi, Thailand...a can of BIRDY Coffee!! The next thing that caught the eye was a really familiar logo. Could it be? That famous flavouring and condiments maker...? AJINOMOTO!! They do coffee too?!

Pulled the tab and drank it anyway.

Was it black? Or was it Au Lait? I couldn't tell, but there probably were traces of milk. The coffee was also at least 1.5 times sweeter than the regular can coffees that I usually buy from the train station's vending machines. Since Thai food are often sour, spicy or sweet, I don't know, this product could be targeting the Thai audience. Haven't seen any AJINOMOTO coffee in Japan or Singapore yet. Not so suitable for me but nevertheless, an interesting souvenir to have.  ♥ ♥  Now give me some AJINOMOTO GYOZA!!
